Souped Up On Guilderland was a fun event for the whole family. Organized by the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce, it was held on Saturday, October 13, 2007. From 11:00 am to 4:00pm visitors were treated to soup samplings from Guilderland's favorite restaurants!
Hundreds of visitors attended Souped Up On Guilderland and cast ballots for their favorite soup, chili, and stew. Awards were presented by Steve from WTEN, Channel 10 in Albany. Guilderland Town Supervisor Kenneth Runion personally congratulated all the award winners and sampled soup, too.
Orchard Creek Golf Club hosted the event. Their new Orchard Creek Pavilion was the venue for the soup tasting, the GGC BBQ, and the great live music provided by 5 Carat Gold.
But that's not all. There was a fantastic car show that featured more than 70 exciting cars. Vehicles from all ears were represented. Included in the mix were a DeLorean, a Hupmobile, a Rousch Mustang, and many others. Visitors were treated to the opportunity to view hot rods, customs, moderns, and classics.
A Souper Golf Outing was staged in the morning. Participants rounded the links and then were treated to soup afterwards. The weather was excellent, and our golfers had great fun.
